Maria is a doctoral researcher who has conducted empirical research into care proceedings with an international dimension and the operation of private international law (https://research-information.bris.ac.uk/en/persons/maria-s-wright). She is a solicitor and Senior Legal Advisor to CFAB (Children and Families Across Borders). She has published widely on child protection issues in a transnational context, including:

• ‘Working’ the international child protection case: a snapshot of local authorities’ experiences within an evolving legal context

• Special Guardianship Orders and Overseas Placements

• Care Proceedings and International Kinship Care (forthcoming, CFLQ 2022)

Maria and Michael were co-authors, together with Henry Setright KC, David Williams KC and Dr Ian Sumner, of International Issues in Family Law: The 1996 Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Brussels IIa (LexisNexis, Sept 2015)

They are also contributors to Rayden and Jackson on Relationship Breakdown, Finances and Children and Butterworths Family Law Service

Michael contributed chapters to the second and third editions of Child Case Management Practice and to International Family Law Practice
